Everything He Is

It is difficult to believe that in four short days it will be two months since the EXCEL 31 class graduated – and since we said our goodbyes. Perhaps that is why all our beautiful memories and adventures have been in my thoughts often lately.

Early morning one-on-one chats, wisdom searches, inspiring sessions (and awkward ones when our team got the giggles :), interesting mealtime conversations, crazy team times (with hilarious moments that only team four will ever know about), walks and talks in Old City Park, EIC week, delightful hands-on projects like smocking, time with God - the beauty of Loving Father meeting unworthy and broken daughters. The list could go on! These are memories that only EXCEL 31 holds in their hearts.

Since being at home the past two months I feel I’m hanging between the powerful truth that God is everything in us and that He can do anything through us – and feeling like “little old measly me who has no real purpose”. Have you ever felt this way?

The other day I remembered the illustration of the mirror that I shared with you gals one sleepy morning at WS. That when we look in a mirror all we tend to see is ourselves – our sinfulness, our incapability, our “humanness” - but when merciful God looks in the mirror, at a life that is covered in the blood of Christ, He doesn’t see us…He sees everything He is. We glanced in the mirror slightly as we experienced more of who He is at EXCEL.

The night before graduation as we stood in the courtyard holding our candles I was struck by the impact each one of you can make as a light in the darkness – and the potential you have to change your world. But my dear friends – let us remember it is never us – it is everything Jesus is in us. May you continue to love and know Jesus more and more!

I love and miss you all!

Teresa
